Over the past few years as housing in the US and UK rocketed off to unknown heights while the dollar and pound started getting thinner, many people began asking where they could go and still enjoy life at a reasonable price. Selling a home for an absurd figure makes one cash rich but property poor as everything else rises in price. So what do you do with the cash to get the best future for your funds?

A new and interesting trend these days is buying some property in another country. There seem to be two main reasons for this. First, anything nearby is likely to be as expensive as what was just sold so many are looking for something that's still a bargain. Second, some people want something far away as a means of capital preservation. With the freefall of currencies, ever higher taxes and constant threats of terrorism, land in a foreign country is one of the greatest asset preservation strategies around.

But, how do you safely buy a piece of property in another country? How do you protect your investment? And, if that worst case scenario happens, could you live there on your little piece of heaven? All good questions.

Anyone can find properties in other countries, but having the time, money and contacts to safely and efficiently purchase and improve it are something else again. A new concept for now and in the future...

Global Country Properties is a new concept for this modern yet sometimes crazy world. Whatever your reasons for buying something far away, Global Country Properties is something you can use now, have whenever you need to get away from it all and something you can sell or bequeath to others. But the idea here is not just buying a piece of dirt somewhere and hoping it will appreciate in value; it's all about having a foreign home with comforts you're used to available whenever you want or need it.

As a cooperative for land purchase and management, Global Country Properties finds, purchases and manages property in faraway lands for and with its members. In this capacity we are a participant, not the developer or reseller. As a result we're all part owners dedicated to the long term success of the project. As a member you're part of the original group purchase on the ground floor for the greatest investment appreciation.

The primary goal is to provide every member with not just a parcel of land far away, but also with a structure wherein a select group of like-minded people can work together, pool their resources and accomplish far more than they could alone.

As a cooperative, we identify suitable large tracts, assist in the purchase, help obtain title insurance, aid in providing builders and contractors, provide property managers and then work with local farmers to set up low impact organic farming for the long term.

The key objective is to have a pastoral setting for vacations or rentals built out and organized for maximum appreciation with solid ownership rights. Either way, the organization, availability and planning will always make it a very worthwhile investment for now and into the future.

In addition, this isn't about vacant pieces of property in remote areas - it's about sustainable land, farmed and maintained for your eventual arrival, whether temporary or permanent. It's about your piece of the larger tract with your cabin, bungalow or mansion built to your desires. You can live there full time, part time, vacation there or even rent it out while you're not using it. And if you decide to move there permanently, you and your family would be able to live safely and comfortably in a distant land, near others of like mind in a fully sustainable environment.

Always plenty of fresh food and water no matter what...

Your Global Country Property may be a cabin on a rushing stream, a condo or a 5,000 square foot home on a lake, whatever you have prepared. Each property can have its own small truck farm area they farm themselves or have it done by a contract land manager. In addition, the overall cooperative land area has all its own water, food and power sources (even Internet) for the long haul, properly maintained, managed and always ready.

All open land of the cooperative that's available for agriculture is farmed under land-use contract by locals following strict certified organic farming practices. Additional food is also available from nearby farmers, thus insuring a steady supply of good, nutritious food for members and their families. All properties are located near pristine open land areas so having clean, fresh water is never a problem.

Along with the great fresh food always available, properties are chosen for their proximity to mountain streams and lakes where clean, fresh water is abundant. In many areas owners can experiment with hydroelectric or solar power if they wish to have their property off the grid. Whether you want a mountain cabin or a huge estate, you'll have all the comforts you're used to. You can have your country property ready, rented out or simply use it for vacations. Plus, as a Co-op owner, you have the added benefits of instant appreciation of your investment regardless of what goes on anywhere else.

Where on earth can this be done...?

Global Country Properties is currently locating and developing projects in Chile and Argentina in the lakes region near Patagonia. Why? Primarily because of the pristine and outright gorgeous lakes, streams and mountains of the area. Secondarily, both Chile and Argentina have extremely strong property ownership laws and rights, even for foreigners. In fact, Chile has a longer and stronger history of legal property ownership than that of the US! Unlike what is happening in the US and UK presently, Chile also has laws against deficit spending that could upset their economy by degrading the value of their money. Land and property have always been excellent methods for preservation of capital; when in a strong economic area, it's even better.

Pristine properties available in both countries abound. Large tracts of beautiful valleys, mountains, lakes and seashore are not only substantially less expensive than many comparable areas, the land is cleaner, the water purer and the air clearer. On the investment side, because such idyllic areas are hard to find, buyers are always easy to find. In fact, one member sold his properties for a 100%+ profit after only 3 years of ownership.

Finding and buying such properties is incredibly demanding to any individual, requiring language skills, time and money to visit many areas and tremendous amounts of patience.

Working together as a group is much better...

The members of Global Country Properties benefit by having access to local people who know what properties are available (there's no mls service, by the way), approach sellers as locals and tie up property before prices go up because foreigners are buying. As a result, fair prices are negotiated on properties that most people simply would never be able to find on their own.

Once the properties are purchased, buyers have access to all the in-country contacts available through the membership including legal, banking, immigration, travel, transport and construction. That's what Global Country Properties is all about and what all our members share--so no one has to figure this out alone.
